At School on Wheels, staff, advisors, mentors, families, and peers work together to support students in reaching their full potential, exploring their interests, and achieving their future goals. Graduates of School on Wheels earn a high school diploma after completing all graduation requirements established by the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education and the State of New Mexico.

School on Wheels is a school of choice magnet high school

  • School on Wheels offers opportunities for credit recovery.
  • Students may earn elective credit for work, volunteer hours, or internship experiences that help build real-world skills.
  • Each student takes their core classes (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) to meet graduation requirements.
  • Students also have opportunities to participate in internships that support career exploration and hands-on learning.
  • Each student is assigned an Advisor who works personally with them and supports them through graduation.
  • Students benefit from a smaller class size and a more personalized learning experience.

Admissions Policy & Entrance Requirements

  • School on Wheels serves students in grades 9–12 and offers year-round enrollment. As a school of choice magnet program, students may enroll at any time during the school year and work with staff to develop a plan for completing graduation requirements.
